Mobile Wallet: Frequently Asked Questions



What devices work with mobile wallet?
  • Apple Pay® is only available on apple devices. These devices must be using iOS 8 or newer and be the following devices or newer: iPhone 6/6+, iPad Air 2/Mini 3, Apple Watch.
  • Samsung Pay® is only available on Samsung Devices that use Android Lollipop 5.0 or newer. The following Samsung models and newer will be supported: Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Edge+, Note5
  • Android Pay™ is only available on Android devices that use Android KitKat 4.4 or newer. They are available on Android smartphones and tablets. 

My phone is one of the models listed above, but I do not see mobile wallet available for my phone?
It may be that you need to update your Operating Software. To do this, go to your phone's settings to see if an update is available. You may need to download the update if you are not using the software listed above or newer.

Which Dieterich Bank cards can I use with my mobile wallet?
You can use your Dieterich Bank consumer debit card, HSA debit card and your business debit card with Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay®and Google Pay™. All of Dieterich Bank's consumer and business credit cards are also eligible for mobile wallets.

Can I enroll more than one Dieterich Bank debit card?
Yes, you can enroll more than one Dieterich Bank debit card. If you do this, be sure to set the correct card as your default card. 

Does my mobile wallet only work for in-store purchases?
No, you can use your mobile wallet for purchases in stores, in apps, and on the web at participating retailers. 

Can the merchant see my debit or credit card numbers?
No, they will not be able to see your debit and credit card numbers, because they are NOT stored on the device. Instead, your numbers will be replaced with a token or code for data security. This can also be referred to as tokenization.

What is tokenization?
Tokenization is the process of replacing a card’s primary account number (PAN)—the 16-digit number on the plastic card—with a unique alternate card number, or “token.” Tokens can be used for mobile point-of-sale transactions, in-app purchases or online purchases.

What if my debit card is lost or stolen?
If your Dieterich Bank plastic debit card is lost or stolen, please notify us immediately at (800) 699-9766. We will cancel your card. You can either use our Instant Issue feature by visiting any Dieterich Bank location; or we can issue you a new card in the mail. When your new card is activated, you will need to enroll it in your mobile wallet.
 
Another option is to turn your card off using digital banking. This option allows you to suspend your debit card for a temporary amount of time and turn it back on if you find your card.
How to Turn your debit card on and off.
  1. Log in to your Digital Banking
  2. Select "Card Management" 
  3. Select the "On/Off" Icon on the same line as the card you wish to turn on or off. 
 
What if my phone is lost or stolen?
Immediately notify us by calling (800) 699-9766. We will disable the Dieterich Bank debit card within your mobile wallet. Your token is different than your card number, and, therefore, your plastic debit card will not be affected and can still be used. You will also need to notify your phone carrier about your lost phone.

Does Samsung Pay®, Google Pay™, and Apple Pay® work in other countries?
Yes, you may utilize your mobile wallet at all participating merchants. Standard currency exchange rates apply. The websites for these wallets give more information on participating merchants.
